  • The concept

Producing the finest fresh filled pasta for over 55 years, La Famiglia Rana is launching for the first time in the UK, introducing an Italian grocery store with a difference. On a mission to ensure “everyone has access to fresh pasta” the brand designed a “part grocery, part workshop and even part photo studio” that customers and shoppers can come visit, buy, and learn more about both the brand and the pasta on display. La Famiglia Rana is also partnering with food bank charity FoodCycle, and all proceeds from the master classes and fresh pasta meal kits will be donated to FoodCycle.

Filled with tons of greenery, fresh flowers and marble backdrops, the “visual and gastronomical beauty of the food-related items” are on full display in his pop-up grocery store. The brand seeks to pay homage to the beautiful Italian goods includes, especially the fresh pasta. The space is packed with the finest Italian high-end products that are hard to find, from Italy’s best producers and growers and even small artisan suppliers, most of which have never been available in the UK before.

The store is broken into many different parts:

Grocery store: Visitors can choose their favorite fresh artisanal ingredients, and also receive free, expert advice from Italian pasta chefs on how to best prepare and plate them.  The pop-up grocer will also be delivering fresh filled pasta for those that live in close proximity to the space.

Workshops: The pop-up is also offering workshops (50 in total!) over the course of its 5-week residency. Here, customers will learn how to prepare fresh pasta meals, food photography skills and indulge in ingredient tastings.
Master classes: Classes will also be held by Rana Famiglia, as well as the Instagram influencers Food Feels and Giulia Mule. The full list of workshop options can be found here: www.universe.com/lafamigliarana
Holiday festivities: The grocer is also hosting special festive tastings on a limited edition ravioli on November 14th, as part of the Marylebone High Street Christmas festivities.
Photo shoots: For those on the hunt for the perfect Instagram-worthy content, the store offers tons of photo opportunities inside to delight the senses. There’s an “infinite number of combinations of beautiful produce, backdrops and tableware all free for customers to use” plus “store-assistants on hand to help them build stunning sets and original arrangements”. Even more, prizes will be awarded for photos posted on Instagram each week from the La Famiglia Rana Instagram account.
