Pop-Up Restaurant Space for Rent Near You

Licensed kitchens and front-of-house rooms, booked by the shift or the week.

Pop-up restaurant space for rent, and licensed commercial kitchens to produce in. Front-of-house rooms with a pass and tables for residencies and supper clubs, plus production kitchens by the shift, in cities across the US, the UK and Europe.

Food businesses arrive here at two different stages. Early on you need a legal kitchen to produce in without signing for premises. Later you want a room with tables in it, to run a residency or test a concept before committing to a site.

Both are bookable by the day and most are confirmed inside 24 hours. Search by date above, or pick a city below.

Pop-up restaurant space and commercial kitchens

Two different products

A production kitchen is where you make the food. It is licensed, it has extraction and refrigeration, and you book it by the shift or the day. Nobody eats there. This is what a market trader, a caterer, a food brand doing a production run or a delivery-only kitchen needs.

A pop-up restaurant space is where people eat it. It has a kitchen behind a pass and a room in front with tables, and you book it for a run of evenings or a few weeks. This is what a residency, a supper club or a chef testing a concept needs.

Mixing them up is the most expensive mistake available here, so decide which one you are booking before you start looking.

What it costs

Production kitchens are priced by the shift, and a shift is usually eight hours. Front-of-house spaces are priced by the evening or the week. In both cases:

Equipment decides it. A kitchen with the ovens, extraction and cold storage you need is worth paying for. Bringing in refrigeration or a deck oven costs more than the difference between two kitchens.

Storage is the hidden line. Dry, chilled and frozen storage between your bookings is often charged separately, and for anyone producing more than a day ahead it matters as much as the kitchen rate.

Timing. Overnight and early morning shifts are the easiest to get, because the daytime ones go first. That suits bakers and works against everyone else.

The paperwork, honestly

This is the one category where the paperwork is real and worth knowing before you book. You will generally need your own food hygiene registration with the local authority, public liability and often product liability cover, and your own HACCP or food safety documentation. The kitchen's license covers the kitchen, not your business.

Hosts are used to this and will tell you what they need. The thing that delays bookings is not the kitchen being unavailable, it is paperwork being started the week of the booking rather than the month before.

Choosing a kitchen

Write down your equipment list and your storage needs first, then filter. A kitchen that is close and cheap but has one oven and no freezer is not cheaper once you have hired a freezer and done two production runs instead of one.

For front of house, the questions are different: how many covers, what the extraction can handle, whether there is a liquor license and whether it transfers, and how late you can serve.

FAQ

Do I need my own food hygiene registration?

Generally yes. The kitchen holds its own license for the premises; you register your food business separately with the local authority. Hosts will tell you exactly what they need to see.

Can I rent a commercial kitchen for one day?

Yes, and single shifts are normal. Many production kitchens sell overnight and early morning shifts specifically because the daytime ones go first.

Is storage included?

Sometimes a little, rarely enough. Ask about dry, chilled and frozen storage between bookings before you commit, because it is the line people forget and then pay for twice.

Can I run a pop-up restaurant and serve alcohol?

It depends on the space and the city. Some venues hold a license that covers your event; elsewhere you apply for a temporary one. Ask early, because it is the longest lead time in the whole process.

What equipment should I expect?

Extraction, ovens, a hob, stainless surfaces, a sink setup that meets local rules and some refrigeration. Anything specialized, a deck oven, a blast chiller, a combi, is listed where it exists and should not be assumed.

How far ahead should I book?

For production, a week or two is usually enough outside the Christmas run-up. For a front-of-house residency, think in months: the paperwork and the marketing both need lead time.
