Sustainable fashion: HULA making designer womenswear more accessible with pop-up in Hong Kong

Online sustainable fashion retailer HULA’s pop up store was the latest step in founder Sarah Fung’s campaign to change the way women look at pre-loved fashion.

Located on Hollywood Road, Central, the pop-up was designed to introduce a new range of customers to the HULA community.

The name HULA is derived from the Hula-hoop, a circular movement which symbolises recycling and a passing of items from one to another. It’s a logo that summarises HULA’s approach to sustainable fashion perfectly.

On the face of it, HULA is an ecommerce website offering second hand designer goods at highly discounted prices. However, the cyclical nature of HULA goes much further than this, with customers encouraged to sell their products and at least five percent of profits going to charity.

Franck Vonachen, from Storefront, said: “We were delighted to be able to find HULA such a good location. The brand’s message is so strong and is having such a positive impact on sustainability.

“A pop-up store was the perfect way for HULA to reach new customers and introduce them to the responsible world of recycled designer fashion.”

The pop-up store was a curated edit of some of HULA’s top brands, high-end and mid range brands, and is stocked with some of the most coveted vintage pieces and never worn items with original tags.

All products at HULA are fully validated using AI technology and prices are often as much as 95% discounted from original sale price.

To sweeten the sustainable fashion pop-up store even more, HULA are hosted a #HULAGiveaway with three chosen winners each receiving an HKD1,500 cash voucher usable in the store.
